So it begins. Legalized extrajudicial violence. Whats different about this vs the Charlie Kirk assassination and why is it more sinister?

The Kirk assassination felt like a threshold we crossed. The premeditated attack on a high visibility individual is startling, but not unprecedented. Assassination has been a political tool for millenia, its in some sense the risk associated with power, prestige, and money. It doesnt make it right, or even acceptable but it is a reality every celebrity and politician accepts. We build it into the overhead of operating as an elite.

How this differs is that a conscientious strike against a person of elite status often shows planning, some precision, a focus of intent toward an objective.. to move a competing ideology off the board. Some one or someone's are responsible, directly, and are ultimately responsible for the outcome and consequences. With mob violence there was never really an intention, just an organic escalation of violence, shared by all participants, where pinpointing who killed this individual is unclear. No one feels responsible, thier hit wasn't the killing blow.. it was the aggregate brutality that was ultimately responsible. Not them.

Once incorporated as a vehicle for political expression it tends to be a runaway process until so many people are impacted negatively, or sated, or catharsis is achieved (usually the guillotines run for months eating thier own) that it no longer seems rational or necessary. Its not justice, its ideological warfare taken to its most violent expression.

If you do not impose swift consequences on every single person in that crowd who stood as an accessory or actor, and lock away the most violent offenders not for the purpose of justice alone but as consequential deterrence, this will get worse. It will metastasize throughout shared cultures, and is the direct precursor to social unrest and civil war.

I will be interested in seeing how France responds. Will they hasten the death spiral of revolution by imposing insufficient penalties on an ideology they don't care to decry, through real justice? Will they crush speech to tamp down on expression which will only delay the problem? Will they target the violent offenders and show them the same mercy they displayed?

This will hasten the formation of ideological tribes to match the left.

People think they want revolution but revolution is the accrued debt of inaction over a period of time, paid in full in blood. The first to die are the young men engaged in setting the lines of battle to stalemate, the second to die are the young and old who relied on the civilization's constructs to sustain them from hunger and infection.

It's, perhaps, a wild thing to consider that every net import of 100 unskilled migrants now, beyond the point of sustainable saturation, may equal some metric (10? 50? 200?) Of death or squalor within a society later. I think on that video of turtles climbing on a log.. each causing it to rock harder into a feedback oscillation that ultimately knocked nearly all of them off. We are the turtles, civilizations are the log and there's only so much room to accommodate and only so much disruption that can be absorbed before we all fall off.

You cannot have leadership that loves control enough that they will organize against your (and their) best interests. At best this individual is running screen for malign forces within the Irish government, at worst he's been offered a seat of power (temporary?) To sell out his own kin and took it. The problem is when elections fail to respect the wishes of the majority, or worse import voting bodies externally to gerrymander the vote you have one likely outcome as a result.. and its bad for everyone.
