Hazem from @ARC4Syria reminding us how the #diaspora are more often than not the first responders in a crisis, in this instance the recent devastating earthquake in Türkiye/Syria.
"The longevity of the crisis in Syria is an issue leading to donor fatigue and shrinking humanitarian response. It's the diaspora who bridge the gap between localisation actors." Hazem of @ARC4Syria

"Even though Bashar al-Assad has now yielded to international pressure to open two new border crossings... the bigger issue is the world’s ability to truly respond to humanitarian need."
ARCS Senior Programs Manager explains in this co-authored piece https://t.co/BaHHKeSXxd
At the #Türkiye-#Syria border today.
We have so far failed the people in north-west Syria.
They rightly feel abandoned. Looking for international help that hasn’t arrived.
My duty and our obligation is to correct this failure as fast as we can.
That’s my focus now.
