@realJ_Mitchell A hearty congratulations. It's nice to see all your development and hard work is being recognized and supported. I hope you have an amazing year!
4 years ago, this wild and wonderful school started and I have been fortunate to have been part of it. Thank you to the admin and parents for supporting all my "what if we.." learning adventures @ddwhdsb . It has been a blast! I'm off to @HDSBIndigenous for 2024-2025. Baamaapii!
Never lose the joy of watching the ducks together (and a Heron in the top left of the video who is used to the kids in the neighbourhood by now) @ddwhdsb@townofoakville@DucksUnlimited
In honour of National Indigenous Day tomorrow, my favourite math problem by @Jason_To and @msbjacobs
https://t.co/d4sWxN9XJR for the beautiful story of the students in Kaktovik, Alaska who created their own number system to match their language! #Iteachmath#thinkingclassrooms
#Indigenous Protected & Conserved Areas are more than just lines on a map: they protect places that matter most & support healthy lands, which builds healthy communities. They’re an expression of Nationhood, & we’re proud to support this work across Canada https://t.co/jXfCcXs1yd
Thank you to our DDW School Council and our parent community for the wonderful Staff Appreciation luncheon. It was such a nice treat to sit back and enjoy a delicious lunch and reflect on the amazing year we’ve had! Thank you for the ongoing support from our DDW community!
It's #IndigenousHistoryMonth, and Tuesday is Tom Longboat day. To prepare, I have been reading about some hardworking, talented, inspiring Hall of Fame athletes here https://t.co/b9V6NnYxRs

June is #PrideMonth. This month, and beyond, the #HDSB celebrates the historical and contemporary contributions of the Two-Spirit and LGBTQIA+ community. We are committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and respectful and where everyone feels supported and safe.
@TMXGroup Also, the Mississaugas of the Credit are "Anishinabek". I'm confused why your land acknowledgement separates "The Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinabek.." please correct the acknowledgement before you use it again #IndigenousHistoryMonth
I was debating what to post for the first day of Indigenous History Month and then it fell into my lap in today's announcement. If you are to do the land acknowledgement, practice, consult, and get someone to check pronunciation. @TMXGroup
Thank you to @HaltonDSB staff for helping me collect these solar viewers for Astronomers Without Borders. They will be tested and sent to the next solar eclipse location to help people watch the eclipse safely.
We are sticking to the path in outdoor literacy for a little while because of the ticks, but @ArtGallBurl gave us a lesson with sand dough that we just had to try out. We learned about strawberry plants and listened to the frogs. @ddwhdsb
Happy Vaisakhi to fellow members of the Sikh community celebrating today 🪯💙🧡

@MrSurti@barb_seaton@ONeducation I asked my husband, who has been teaching technology at a high school for twenty years, if he would be interested. He said he can't because all his tech classes would be cancelled next year as there is no one qualified to teach them in his absence. We need more tech teachers.
@ddwhdsb The kids and their excitement for the teachings of the month were the actual inspiration. We teach some future changemakers:)
Also... How amazing is the mural on the @foodforlife buillding? So much hope for a world without food insecurity!
Last day of the Ramadan food donation calendar and the students suggested lettuce and cucumber to break the fast. Thanks for all the great food donation ideas, class 6-1 @ddwhdsb
