There was a curious situation at the railway station. 2 escalators, side by side, both are going the same direction, up. One is crowded, & people are lining up to take it. On another one - no people, none. I took this one, of course. Turned around, at first there was no one behind me, then one girl joined, then another person. How interesting. It tells me a lot.

Do you know why I came to IMAX? The last movie I watched in IMAX was Avatar (2009) in 3d, & it was unforgettable, so I was curious about what had changed since 2009. I liked the presentation of the technology itself they ran before the movie started.
And yes, one more thing. You can repeat a thousand of times ‘people, read the Odyssey, it’s awesome!’, & some of them actually will read it, but then the film comes out & the whole world is suddenly interested, & everybody is talking about it. The power of visual impact.

Lemme show you the ugly side of train transportation management. You want to buy a ticket (talking about regional trains now). You read ‘442 seats available for purchase’. Cool. You purchase. But they didn’t tell you that ‘you will sit, on the floor, in the round 🎶’ (rephrasing my favourite song from Michael Jackson). Literally, people sit in the passages, on the steps, on suitcases, on other people’s toes. It’s summertime, people go on vacation with children. Delays, cancellations, change of trains, platforms. And some maybe are missing their flights. And they pay. But who cares, right? Who cares about people? Here are just several examples from my trips in regional trains, including today’s high-speed 😂 experience, in pictures. Note the champion of delays…125 min, and you are at the high-speed trains part of the station.

It’s about bats. They are not only the only mammals who execute self-powered flight. Their LQ (longevity quotient), a species’ actual lifespan that matches what is expected based on size, is the highest between placental mammals. Compare a human’s LQ which is high, about 4.18 & a bat’s LQ which arrives to 9.8. But why forever young & not only long-living? Because bats don’t only live long but they live a long HEALTHY life.

Dear Copyright Office I don’t remember the name of & am too lazy to scroll my timeline to the post I mentioned it, let me inform you that you have infringed Homer’s rights…many times. Stop stealing people’s rights or one day Homer, Dante, Machiavelli, Shakespeare & others will come after you all together & you will not only be suspended but burn in one of the rings of hell together with your partners in crime, exactly as Dante intended.
Oh, btw, Dante placed Ulysses in the 8th bolgia (probably you can translate it as ‘pandemonium’) of the 8th ring where the counsellors of frauds are located whose souls are burning wrapped in perpetual flames. Exactly there, in this place, you can meet Ulysses, guilty of having dragged his shipmates into his ‘folle volo’ (translate it yourself) & of deception, burning together with Diomede for having plotted the this deception.

Tomorrow I’ll have time in a train to write smth but tonight I already imagine the taste of a good fiorentina from my favourite restaurant in Florence melting on my tongue. I know this restaurant for a long time. And when I lived in Bologna I used to take a train (less than 40 minutes & you are at Santa Maria Novella) to have lunch in this restaurant. In 2024 my daughter & her husband gifted me a trip to Florence as a bd present. We met there & had wonderful time between a fiorentina & the Capella Medicea. Btw, is that copyright office I don’t remember the name of getting ready for my infringing at IMAX where I’ll be watching the Odyssey? Warm up, guys! Warm up! I’m coming.

From Lamborghini Aventador to Italian Adaptator, we have diversity of ideas here. This was my real struggle - Italian sockets & plugs & plug adaptors, when I moved to Italy. Aren’t you confused yet? Every morning I greet Caesar Bowser with a Roman salute ‘Ave, Cesare!’ Today I have found him like this, with his nose under water, completely still. My first thought - ‘A suicide attempt’, but then I saw him happily blowing bubbles out of his nose though I was told in the zoo sulcata get stressed when the water enters their nostrils. Mine is definitely not a sulcata but a sulcata glitch 🤩 (I love glitches because they disrupt the system). This green thing is supposed to be a cup but Gaius Julius Caesar Bowser has adopted it as an aqua gym & he spins inside it from time to time.

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, X will remove the identified material.’ Do you know what identified material was it? From the cinema when I was watching The Odyssey. And which copyrighted works have I infringed exactly? My video registrations - my copyrights, no? And…I paid for my ticket, so I bought the movie. And, I made the movie a publicity (free of charge). And, lastly, I received no money from advertising this movie.
But, buttttt, I am flattered 😅💪🏻 that my microscopic account got such a VIP attention while colossal accounts sharing videos, songs etc. which gain (money money money 🎶) from millions of views are passing unnoticed.

The car is at the repair shop…again, for the 5th time I think, wth? the same issue with a coolant leak. One time - a sleeve, changed, another time - another sleeve, then - the water pump, now - a plug. Anyway, it gives me an opportunity to discover public transportation in the mountains. Yesterday I was telling my son - ‘omg! Look at this cool bus stop!’ But then…10 km of difference…and you’re at ‘macello pubblico’ 😅, no, va beh…is there any other name which fits better? Well, this is from my series ‘the past is fusing with the future’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you’re looking for an accurate description of historical events, you won’t find them here, let’s not forget, Homer wrote a poem, not a historical record. The beauty of it is exactly in the possibility of interpretation in any stylistic key you can imagine, even in cyberpunk style, if you wish, but the emotions, the emotions the Odyssey evokes, remain the same, independently of a style. As far as I was watching it today for the first time (in the cinema in English, subtitles were a bit irritating though) I didn’t know which scenes would impress me the most. But either because of its fluidity or of an intuitive composition, I could turn on my camera in the moments I liked the most. The scene with the attack of the giants was super cool, silent menace appearing from behind the trees, silence of the giants is what made it so tense. Beautiful movie, an artistic interpretation of the poem, the amazingly made horse, completely unexpected & unique, the costumes seem to be made for a runway show. My daughter told me, the movie had been heavily criticised, I don’t understand why. Take 300, it’s highly artistic, as well. And I don’t remember it being criticised so much.
Anyway, I wanted to watch it in IMAX but the nearest one seems to be in Florence & I will be there in August so, I’ll definitely go to see it again if it’s still on. You have no idea, or maybe you do, how happy such moments are when you watch a movie with your kids & then, you all discuss it sharing impressions & opinions. My daughter said the fall of Troy was exactly as she imagined it while reading the poem. My son added that Nolan managed to bring to the screen the problems of modern society through the prism of the epic story written in antiquity. And many other thoughts & opinions…
P. S. To be honest, I never liked Ulysses, this astute character who would challenge the gods but at the end would do as they advised. I always thought he was a liar who, by deception, destroyed the city which had won the war on the battlefield.

So, why was I searching for the description of kori? I was reading about sulcata, of course, & about its habitat. Why? I was curious to know how to take care about Gaius Julius Caesar Bowser. But when I arrived to the proportion of calcium & carbohydrates in the diet I suddenly thought ‘Why am I reading this? The species of Homo sapiens sapiens which emerged around 300 k years ago is teaching a 100mln!-year species which has been surviving in the Sahel for a 100…million…years…what to eat? It’s not a Yorkshire with its delicate stomach & a nice pink bow 🎀 on the head. It’s a ‘bulldozer of the desert’ from sub-Saharan Africa with its not so delicate climate & food scarcity. Be careful not to feed him with this or that to avoid your tortoise’s obesity? Whaaaat?! It’s like putting a man-gourmet on a strict forced diet - how sad.’ So, what did I do? I trusted the acute olfaction of Centrochelys sulcata. When I take him outside he eats what he wants. He avidly devours dandelions, clovers & other grasses I don’t even know the names for. Btw, [quote] ‘the scarcity of historical (distributional and ecological) data on this species and the shortage of field studies on habitat use/selection,’ makes it difficult to evaluate, as for me, pretty much everything about this absolutely amazing species.
About preservation - ‘African Spurred Tortoises prefer kori and stabilized dunes. In many areas inhabited by African Spurred Tortoises, bush fires considered are one of the main problems.
Peaks of bush fires occur in November and December, with most of these due to poachers and cattle ranchers believing that burning improves the quality of the grassland and facilitates hunting. The high frequency of bush fires are negatively correlated with the presence of African Spurred Tortoises if fires are also accompanied with a high density of domestic livestock. The results of this study suggest a conservation management recommendation to guard and mitigate against too many cattle and potential overgrazing of kori habitats and their immediate surroundings and to reduce
the adverse impact of bush fires on the natural habitat (Menaut et al., 1991; Benjaminsen, 2000) to minimize potential interspecific competition between domestic grazers and the African Spurred Tortoise of the region’.

Look. I was searching for the description of ‘kori’ in the afternoon. Do you know how long it took me to find it? About half an hour probably. I tried ‘kori’, ‘kori africa’, ‘kori characteristics’, ‘kori place africa’, ‘kori geographical characteristics’, etc. The search would give me back the same ‘kori bustard’.
Oh, for god’s sake! I wasn’t asking about a bird, I was asking what ‘kori’ means. One word - ‘kori’, not ‘kori bustard’. What is wrong with your AIs, guys?
P. S. Kori is ‘a dry riverbed’ or ‘a watercourse’ in Africa, btw.
