As my first official tweet I wanted to introduce myself. I am a Masterโs student at the University of Florida studying the management of SWD in blueberry crops. Iโm looking at different IPM tactics, as well as, biocontrol using EPNs. ((I also really love bug art and photography))
Please note that the two-spot cotton leafhopper, Amrasca biguttula, has been seen infesting eggplants at UF's Plant Science Research and Education Unit in Citra, Florida. This pest can cause significant damage to cotton, okra, roselle, sunflowers, and eggplant.
I am so excited to announce my admission to the University of Florida PhD program under Dr. Oscar Liburd in the Small Fruit and Vegetable IPM lab. I would also like to thank the Entomology and Nematology department for awarding me a matching teaching assistantship!
We would love to welcome Dr. Jasleen Kaur to the liburd lab as our new postdoctoral associate!
Her research will focus on developing sustainable solutions for invasive species management, particularly chilli thrips in blueberry orchards. ๐ซ
Welcome Dr. Kaur!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to present my undergraduate thesis research at ESA. Grateful to my advisor, @AmandaSubalusky, for the support and guidance. Excited to have connected with so many fellow stable isotope researchers.
Our lab is hosting the Science Up Close: Incredible Insects exhibit at the @FloridaMuseum this week! ๐Please visit our booths to learn more about our research and see some cool bugs! ๐
Weโre looking for interested undergraduates for a paid summer internship! Interns will gain hands on experience in blueberry IPM research. See flyer for details, please share! ๐ซ
