This week on A Weekly Dose of Architecture Books is "G. E. Kidder Smith Builds: The Travel of Architectural Photography" by Angelo Maggi, published by @ARDPublishing: https://t.co/vwf8KY4Zej
Congratulations to Michael Benedikt, @UTSOA professor and nominee for the 2022 #HamiltonBookAwards!
His book, “Architecture Beyond Experience,” introduces a new way of conceptualizing architecture and redefines what it means to “experience” a building.
The book consists of a list of twenty suggestions (or paternal exhortations, if you will) for the fourteen weeks of a regular academic semester. Twenty reflections that were drawn from twenty years of teaching architecture students abroad.
This book represents the very first book dedicated to George Everard Kidder Smith, who passed away 25 years ago in New York. It deals with his life and work underlining his ability to document and interpret historical architecture and the great buildings.
The book “G. E. Kidder Smith Builds: The Travel of Architectural Photography” is being published by @oroeditions.
Authored by Angelo Maggi with a foreword by Michelangelo Sabatino, the book has been designed by Neil Donnelly and Siiri Tännler.
