The main character of the first book is a slave that becomes a king then a tyrant in his pursuit of revenge.

Writing fantasy ruined all other fantasy worlds for me. Now I mostly see their flaws and the mystique is somewhat lost.

A similar thing happened to me about music when I learned to play the guitar and other instruments.

The sacrifice is well worth it though.
