More than 50,000 worshippers filled the Western Wall Plaza for Selichot — the traditional prayers of repentance, forgiveness and mercy recited ahead of the Jewish High Holy Days.

Prayers were also offered for Israel’s soldiers and security forces, the security of Israel and the unity of the Jewish people.

More than 350,000 people have already gathered at the Western Wall for Selichot since the beginning of Elul.
