Building a Tecnological Ecosystem to Advance the Growth of Technology and Innovation in Arewa

Like we did the last time, we're going to hold #ArewaTechTalkAgric simultaneously accross the 19 Northern States & Abuja on Saturday 15th September 2018 from 1pm to 4pm. And we want each state to come up with its own flier, carrying venue & other info of the event in their city.

We will also want our volunteers to select a keynote speaker, and then a moderator that will anchor the discussions on #ArewaTechTalkAgric in order to bring out tangential solutions on how the use of technology can enhance agricultural development in the region & Nigeria at large

Therefore, our volunteers will select a team of 5 panelists for #ArewaTechTalkAgric which will include a representative of:
1) Min of Agric
2) All Farmers Association
3) Bank of Agric
4) Academia
5) Agric Techie.
All these will be selected from within each of the host state

Through the use of technology, we believe that a deliberate effort will be geared towards pushing an entirely new generation into farming industry, not just to go into farming but also boost the value chain entirely, which will in turn increase economic growth #ArewaTechTalkAgric

The #ArewaTechTalkAgric will this time around be a roundtable discussion with some key stakeholders in the agric sector, to discuss how the use of technology will aide increase in production & also simplify the process, in order to modernize it & make it more attractive.

To this end, we are hosting this #ArewaTechTalkAgric around the type of technological investment, collaboration and enlightened public policy needed for our Agricultural sector to truly flourish, by introducing technology to agriculture in general, in a sustainable manner.

Increase in our production should be our focus. What can we leverage in terms of advanced seed genetics, on-farm agronomic practices, software and hardware innovations to drive yield? What is viable for our livestock production, and even aquaculture? #ArewaTechTalkAgric.

Farming isnt new to us but how exactly can we increase the productivity of our farming systems while simultaneously transforming agriculture into a source of economic freedom for its practitioners, especially for the millions of smallholder farmers in Nigeria? #ArewaTechTalkAgric

Perhaps the biggest rhetoric in many circles in Nigeria is 'Return to Agriculture'. Most recently, there has been drive from the government & the equally anxious citizens to delve into agriculture in order to diversify our economy with meaningful initiatives. #ArewaTechTalkAgric

We've decided to make #ArewaTechTalk a monthly event & each month we will unveil the topic or focus for the month, like we said, we want it to be sector based in order to discuss how technology can be used to bring about change & development in our communities #ArewaTechTalkAgric
