I did not see you on the testnet today. All according to plan.
All transactions & validators are protected by ring signatures and our novel confidential PoS consensus.

🟪 Reminder to clear your "discreet" directory if you have one.
ℹ️ A new update featuring keychain validation upon daemon start will be pushed to master soon (ETA: 12-18 hours.), fixing the bootstrapping/syncing issue from a fresh peerlist.
ℹ️ For those experiencing trouble syncing due to connecting to peers on the wrong keychain, this will be fixed in the next update (current ETA: 2-3 days). We will implement anchored nodes during syncing as well.

ℹ️ Due to a new signing keyring, your old key will no longer work, therefore you need to delete the "discreet" directory from the home directory prior to execution.
Use the GUI wallet to interact with the network.

ℹ️ Testnet validators are up & running with a new keyring.
- Improved network resilience
- Fixed issue that was causing daemon stalls
- VPNs will function better with the daemon/wallet

ℹ️ We are going to be working towards a status page to monitor all @discreet-related services, including (but not limited to):
- Testnet stability
- Consensus stability
- Faucet stability
- Website reachability
- Explorer stability
We will also post alerts there. Stay tuned. 💻
ℹ️ Our privacy consensus (Aurem) is so fast, that there's now a possible race condition where a node might receive the same transaction at the exact same instant, hindering ring formation leading to invalid Triptych proofs.
We're working quickly to fix this permanently. 🕙
ℹ️ The @discreet testnet is now LIVE — the genesis block has been reset, so clear your data & wallet folders!
We are continuously making improvements to the protocol as we receive feedback on stability and transaction speed.

ℹ️ Current validator committee set updating their nodes to the latest preview version. The chain has been reset, as reflected by the explorer.
Block production and validation is estimated to go back online within the next 24 hours.
ℹ️ Tomorrow at 12 PM EST the @discreet testnet will receive an upgrade, including multiple fixes and improvements.
The network will intermittently go offline.

ℹ️ An invalid Triptych proof has caused some users to be unable to send/receive funds. We've narrowed down the issue and working on a fix. This might require a chain reset.
Once this issue is resolved, the faucet will be back online again. Current timeline: 48 hours.
// validator update
Testnet is out 23/02/24, we will expand validator pool with on a set epoch schedule. Validator threshold is holdings of ≥20,000 $DIST.
Mail: [email protected] to apply (no need to resend applications).

The testnet scheduled for next Friday will feature Aurem, our fully decentralized consensus, verifying the most private transactions in cryptocurrency at blazing speeds.
It is also the final version of Discreet prior to an official mainnet launch and will stay online until then.
In 2024, thanks to a donation by @FrederikMarkor, we we will devote a large amount of computational power to find optimal pairing-friendly curves.
Where each curve, ideally, has a minimum of 100 bits of security, exceeding Pallas & Vesta (@zcash) and BLS12–381. 🔒
