1) He lacks physical presence and gets bullied in duels against strong sides, unlike Partey who dominates them.

2) Poor positioning: he drifts forward too much, leaving Rice to cover as a six and exposing the backline.

3) He struggles under pressure; his passing and decision-making drop when pressed, causing turnovers that Partey rarely did.

4) Weak progressive passing: he does not break lines or spray the ball like a true deep-lying playmaker should.

5) Fatigue issues: after heavy minutes, he switches off and makes costly errors, like bad back passes.

6) He lacks big-game control and does not boss midfield battles the way Partey used to, making Arsenal look soft centrally.

This is a clear downgrade from Partey, who brought athleticism, press resistance, sharp reading of the game, and physical dominance that kept things tight. Partey protected the defense better and let others push forward confidently. Zubimendi just hasn’t replicated that reliability.
