As aviation decarbonisation requirements continue to evolve, understanding the relative cost of emissions reduction is becoming increasingly important. Argus has introduced sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) emissions reduction indexes (ERIs), offering an independent view of how SAF economics compare with voluntary and compliance carbon market obligations.

The new indexes, published for Europe, Asia and the US, are complemented by an Excel-based calculator that allows subscribers to model procurement, compliance and decarbonisation strategies using their own assumptions. Together, they provide greater transparency around SAF costs, carbon market pathways and Scope 3 emissions reduction decisions.
