Been reiterating boundaries/personal space + cleaning up after ourselves. It's going really well 🙃:
Me: Leland, you need to pick up your toys before we can go to the library.
Leland: I'm not ready to pick up my toys 🎶 and that's a boundary that's a boundary 🎶
Me: already anticipating how many times I'll have to clarify that I am staff and not a student/participant at a collegiate conference next week
Also me: sips juice boxes on Zoom meetings while organizing said conference
Dear absolutist,
Please know that we all don’t have the same extreme either/or, cut and dry, “black and white” view of the world as you do. It makes conversations with you nearly impossible when you assume this to be true about everyone. (🧵)
When the theology we promote as Christians results in others believing that they have no value and death would be better than living with such shame, that’s when we know our theology has missed the whole point of the gospel:
Jesus conquered death.
He didn’t drive people to it.
Jake tried to flex on me that his school didn't need StarLab because they went to actual Planetarium, BUT the man was never served Italian Dunkers at lunch so who's the real loser now
@depresbian But the HONOR and PRIVILEGE it was to be selected as one of two people to open and close the door for the class?? Thinking that if we left it open for just one extra person then the whole thing would deflate and kill our classmates?? I still feel the weight of that responsibility
(Waking Leland up from a nap)
Leland: My eyes!!!!!
Jake: What's wrong with your eyes??
Leland: They're blind!!!!
Jake: They're not blind.... they're shut!
