Hi! I just wanted to share something I've been noticing in the art commission community lately.

There seem to be a lot of scammers recently. Not long ago, someone contacted me on Reddit and apologized because they thought I was the person who had scammed them.

Since I don't require down payments from my clients, accepting commissions is always a bit of a gamble. To reduce the risk, I always check a client's profile before accepting a commission. If the account looks brand new or suspicious, I usually don't respond.

After freelancing full-time for the past 3 years, I've only been scammed once, but I definitely learned from that experience.

The person kept insisting that I help them catch the scammer and wanted me to continue the conversation on Discord. That immediately felt suspicious to me, so I decided not to engage any further.

They sent me a screenshot of an alleged scammer using a username that looked almost identical to mine, with just one extra letter. They were also using my OC as their profile picture, which honestly made me wonder, who would even use my OC as their profile photo?
