@LilyMedrano_ I’ve experienced similar difficulties! Many of the patients we have anesthesia that is wearing off so not only are they a little disoriented, but some of them become nauseous, gassy, etc. which causes them even more discomfort. #CCIVc2023
@RotemGwpt This is definitely a challenge. I’ve also faced this in the acute setting when patients are post-op joint replacements, but also have co-morbidities that make treatment hard.
I find myself struggling in clinic when we go hours without a break or take super late lunches. In the joints program I’m in, the more surgeries that occur, the more patients we have to clear for discharge in a quick timeframe so we are often on the move. #CCIVc2023
@meghanhspt The political/structural side of healthcare is always in and of itself full of surprises… Health disparities are everywhere! I’m interested to see how much more you learn as it relates to the pediatric population. #CCIVc2023
@BalsamItani Hi Balsam! I would absolutely agree. I learned in my first ICE that part of the reason why I love PT is because it allows clinicians to be creative while personally and strategically putting together POCs for patients at an individual level. #CCIVc2023
I was surprised most in clinic by the collaborative nature of the interdisciplinary team. In the inpatient setting, PTs have the opportunity to directly communicate with a patient’s entire medical team and discuss issues that go beyond that of MSK. #CCIVc2023
