The Matthew Stafford contract extension from last week gave him a $5M raise for this season.
There was also $50M added for 2027, but none of it is guaranteed until March of next year. And with Ty Simpson now on the roster, thats a notable detail.
There’s a very real scenario where Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby is on an NFL team for training camp via the NFL Supplemental Draft.
It’s a fascinating situation, and we should have an answer very soon.

NFL Spotlight is a show where we spotlight people around the NFL who deserve more recognition. If there’s someone you think we should feature, my DMs are open.
It’s one of the bigger “what ifs” in Super Bowl history...
#49ers S Ji’Ayir Brown talks about the freak injury to Dre Greenlaw in the Super Bowl vs. the #Chiefs and the impact it had on the team:
“He is the spark plug. He’s the engine. … It drained us. I think if Dre Greenlaw played that game, the Chiefs never pass the 50-yard line. Honestly.”

I took #Lions CB Terrion Arnold down memory lane during our interview this week, reminding him how he nearly quit football in high school after suffering a broken ankle.
Here’s his story:
Terrion Arnold says there was a RB at Alabama who tried to truck Brian Branch during a drill where you’re not supposed to hit anyone...
Branch told him: “Remember that.”
Next time they ran it, Branch knocked him out. 🤯

The #Chiefs getting CB Mansoor Delane, DT Peter Woods, and DE R Mason Thomas feels like three potential immediate-impact players for a defense that desperately needed to get younger and add serious reinforcement.
The #Browns were able to draft 4 players many viewed as potential 1st-round picks (Fano, Concepcion, Boston, and McNeil-Warren), while also adding two 2027 4th-round picks during the draft, giving them 10 total picks next year.
The picks. The process. I loved all of it.
#Falcons have hired #Eagles Senior Vice President Bryce Johnston as SVP of Football—essentially their lead contract negotiator and cap strategist under GM Ian Cunningham, as @MikeGarafolo said.
I had him on “NFL Spotlight” last year. Get to know him here: https://t.co/B6owMUTkIa
Malik Nabers speaking his mind and being authentic is a good thing — and something we should want players to do.
Nabers will learn more about roster building and NFL business as time goes on, but I really hope this doesn’t make him afraid to speak openly going forward.

The #Giants are big fans of Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson...
He might not make it to No. 10, and if that’s the case, I believe there’s a real internal debate about just taking him at No. 5.
Let’s go over the situation:
The more this draft process has played out, the more it feels like Oregon S Dillon Thieneman could go higher and higher. I have him at No. 12 to Dallas.
Auburn DL Keldric Faulk is a defensive prospect who has garnered more and more buzz as the draft process has gone on.
“He’s the youngest player on our entire board, but is probably one of the top 3 football characters in the entire draft,” one evaluator said.
