I hope my husband had a very uncomfortable day at work today.

I hope all of his female coworkers asked what he did for me for Mother’s Day.

And I hope he had to tell them the truth.

Nothing.

No flowers.

No card.

No breakfast.

No last-minute grocery store bouquet grabbed on the way home.

Nothing at all.

Meanwhile, I am the mother of his children. The same children I carried, delivered, and continue to keep alive on a daily basis.

I didn’t even want anything extravagant. A handwritten card, a cup of coffee, or somebody else loading the dishwasher would have been enough.

Instead, the day came and went like it was a random Tuesday.

The most impressive part is that he genuinely seemed surprised when I was hurt.

@larayapmaaq @astikbizbunlari It took me a long time to get my swelling down, I had a c section and after that surgery you swell quite a lot too. I just got back down to my prepregnancy weight. It sucks to have a belly still, but the baby is such a reward. Some people bounce back, some can’t.
