@Pivot2Centre He’s an Islamist chutya but god sometimes you can’t deny his aura. What a shame that there isn’t a Hindu American politician who has a similar level of charisma and is proud of his identity
"Hindus from different regions celebrate Diwali for varying regional stories".
And that's still "Hindu". In West, Diwali dubbed as "Festival of lights" & associated imaginary is largely core Hindu celebration with sweets, crackers, lights. No-one bothers about "varying" ways.
Hey @grok I’m a SWE with 1.5y experience working in embedded/system level software (not platform, but system as in fault tolerance, high voltage software, etc). How can I become top 1% embedded/realtime controls engineer with a crazy understanding of physical systems. No BS
Non-Hindus stuffing their face during Diwali festivities doesn't make Diwali a South Asian festival nor is it considered that it is celebrated throughout South Asia. By the same yardstick, Eid is a Middle-Eastern festival and not an Islamic festival.
@Jha4NY@RoKhanna@RepJayapal Ro Khanna comes from a literal congressi family. His nana was a Congressi CM of a state (some Vidyalankar I don’t remember). He is part of the reason India is poor today and should frankly be treated as a de facto bad faith actor.
There is no normative "South Asian American" culture
Left wing Indian immigrants want to import caste affirmative action, treating Islamism with kid gloves, whining about Palestine, separatist ideologies, and batshit economic ideas into this country
@MT_6226 Honestly in Canada at least the diaspora is pretty proud in its identity, festivals, etc. Doesn’t have the constant need to fit in (and still do fit in without issue). American Hindus are more wannabe pickme assimilationists imo)
people who can't even say "jai raghuvanshi ayodhapati ram chandra ki jai" are talking about celebrating diwali
only bursting crackers ≠ celebrating diwali
diwali party ≠ diwali
The Indian American Muslim Council and Council on American Islamic Relations literally import "subcontinents beefs" into America. In fact CAIR had an internship position a couple years ago to spy on the Hindu community to fight "Hindutva"
Told you.
This ‘South Asia Solidarity’ is sponsored by H4HR.
An organisation which will claim they are a big tent for Hindus but will villainise any part of the Hindu diaspora which decides to call out persecution of Hindus, whether historical genocides or recent lynchings in their beloved South Asia.
This organisation wants Hindus to be docile yes people to everyone else.
Silent when they are at the receiving end of hate, especially from the vile left.
Get lost you absolute hypocritical tools.
Everyone sees through you.
This current narrative around @cohere just makes me so sad man.
Canada finally has an AI company that’s having an impact at a global scale and, instead of celebrating that success, Canadians are tearing it down.
I fully understand that when government capital is in the mix that it warrants an extreme level of accountability. That money comes, in part, from the contribution of hard working people across this country.
But as a proud Canadian, why would you not want your government supporting one of the most clear success stories over the past decade?
As a country we should be doing everything we can to support these success stories and the people working hard to make it a success.
South Asians have been at the forefront of wokism for years lol.
Even more hilarious is cribbing about Islamophobia yet labeling concerns about Hinduphobia as "Hindu victimhood" just weeks after some groyper's gun jammed at a Hindu temple, foiling a potential mass murder.
Hi! Friendly reminder Diwali is celebrated all over the world! There are Hindus in places like Fiji, Suriname, and Detroit, Michigan!
Ancient Hindu texts make Diwali what it is down to its core. Sikhs and Jains celebrate Diwali as they are our dharmic siblings, and they’re always welcome to do so with us. The more the merrier.
But they celebrate it for completely different reasons on overlapping dates, nor is it their primary festival.
Taking the most important festival of our faith, stripping the word Hindu, and replacing it with the arbitrary geographical label “South Asian” is called HINDU ERASURE. You do this to downplay our community’s significance and concerns.
Abdul El-Sayed goes even further than merely downplaying. He signed a pledge to profile and investigate Hindu donors for alleged “ties to the RSS” (whatever that means).
And why should we take his words on the Aurora temple mass shooting plot seriously?
He’s previously said attacks on places of worship is a matter of “Hurt people hurt people.”
I’m voting for Mike Rogers on Tuesday and if you find Hindu erasure like this concerning, you should too.
In 50 years, one of the most common deathbed regrets will be “I wasted my life on short-form videos” and the darkest part is they won’t even remember a single one
@moodslayer95 A lot of the urban middle/upper middle class family I have back home are always abusing him lol (and these are Gujaratis). Fwiw my family is hella Sanghi
@aishik_panja@Marcjac47016208 The Hindus who eat beef are like Reform Jews and Mainline Protestants. They’ll all be gone by the third generation.
If you want to be religious, then stand for something.
