Play to earn is thriving on steam with no Blockchain.
All it took was a game that allowed items to be traded.
6 years here and we couldn't get a game to do that properly other than Axie.
We had the advantage and we still SLIGHTLY do.
- We can actually send the $ to our banks instead of steam credits.
- we can take loans against digital items, in steam you can't.
-devs can set better marketplace fees
- easier to get in any marketplace, no questions asked
This advantage won't last too long, eventually a web2 platform like steam will win without blockchain.
We either start delivering cool games that gamers want to play with skin or full item economies or we lose.
We are not early anymore. Web3 is not inevitable.
If you look back in history, many technologies didn't win the race of global adoption even though they were better.
Lets not be the tech that could've been awesome.
Revenue started coming in. Small but a good first step.
Now it's a matter of continued testing and seeing how big we can scale it.
More on this in a few months.
Stay Silly!

This game spent $5M to build their full game but in web3 we can't get a demo.
They have sold 300,000 copies in 3 days.
Do you understand? Founders are not delivering full products. Delivering is not success but it certentaintly is the first step.
This chinese indie dev studio is building a pretty nice top down action roguelite.
Command a spectral cat, wield shifting weapons and magic, and conquer the cursed city.
Release: TBA
✅Wishlist it!
This indie dev team built a fast paced 3D endless runner where you flip, trick, and grind your train through a colorful Japanese dystopia.
In my opinion this is going to be the best endless runner since temple run.
Release: June 17
✅I wished it, you should too
Play to earn is not gone. We just have to go back to basics like 2020.
You earn as long as someone is willing to buy your items or cosmetics that you worked hard to grind and upgrade.
Cash prize pools with leaderboards work too.
If you release a token it has to work like a stock and accrue value from what you are building and only then you can distribute those tokens as rewards.
We need more indie games we can enjoy that simply have a good cosmetic economy that can be traded.
Devs make money on seasonal passes + trading fees.
Seasonal passes allow you to trade for $. Free to play can't trade but can earn their cosmetics and keep it in their account.
The Beacon is doing a good job at that.
Lets start there. Let's go back to basics.
