This is #bilby country, harsh and spectacular. We travelled the region and camped rough for 14 days to map out where the wild bilbies are (and are not). Importantly, we documented the presence and relative abundance of predators such as #feralcats and wild dogs.

The prey naivety research team are measuring bilbies' responses to predator cues (cat 🐱 versus quoll models) compared to a control (hence the bucket). This stick-nest rat made a surprise visit to the testing burrow. Check out the size of the stickie next to the 9L bucket!
