I’m not sure what God is doing in my heart and spirit, but I’m feeling a fresh fire. I can’t even really describe it. I’ve been serving Jesus for 35 years and am so grateful for all that he has done and allowed me to be a part of, but there’s a fresh wind blowing.
Psalm 39 was part of my Bible reading this AM and I spent a while meditating on v.7.
“And now, what is my hope? Truly my hope is in you.”
Thinking how we all have times of “and now, what?” Times when the path is upended. The plan didn’t materialize. Dreams crashed & crumbled.
@BethMooreLPM Happy Happy Birthday to you! You are a true servant of God, inspiring people for decades and never wavering in your faith. So much respect and love for you!
Nobody gets out unbloodied. Cling to your Healer. Know when you need stitching up.
Don’t crave what will kill your character. If God entrusts you with a crowd, refuse to play to it. That’s what sucks a once-faithful servant into the crazy-making quicksand of celebrity syndrome.
We must not despise what God is doing in our day. He is doing what he promised. He is cleaning house. Make no mistake. Christ still walks among the lampstands. In faithfulness, he’s refining the church like gold in a purifying fire so that the dross may surface. He’s dismantling
I can’t recommend Scripture memory enough. We’re going to meditate. Our minds naturally think habitually. We ruminate on ourselves, our offenses, fears, cravings, jealousies, resentments & how everybody’s let us down. But what if we formed a habit of thinking on the Lord’s words?
The thing about it is that, if you get all pouty at God and pick up your toys and stomp off instead of just keeping your pouty self right there in his powerful presence, doing the hard work of trusting him in it even though you’re not happy with it, you miss the redemption.
Don’t stop trusting the Lord just because you couldn’t trust people. He is altogether different, altogether holy, gracious, compassionate, merciful & good. He keeps his word. Keeps you. Place your faith in Christ alone. He will get you through. Weep, yes, but knowing joy cometh.
