Delighted to see the hidden history of Arunachal Pradesh being unfolded amidst the audiences of national capital through the theatre festival of Arunachal - ‘Arunachal Rang Mahotsav’ at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi.
Witnessed the spectacular performance of our own Arunachal tribal artists showcasing the first uprising of North East tribal people against the Colonial rule led by the Tai Khamti Chief, Chowpha-Plang-Lu which is popularly known as the ‘Anglo British War of 1839’.
Enjoyed the play along with Hon’ble Speaker, Shri P D Sona ji, Hon’ble MP(Lok Sabha), Shri Tapir Gao ji, HMLAs Shri Ninong Ering ji, Shri Ojing Tasing ji, Shri Gokar Basar ji and among others yesterday evening.
Kudos to Director - Shri Riken Ngomle, Asst Professor of #NSD New Delhi, Playwright - Shri Himanshu Joshi, Research Scholar, Shri Nepha Wangsa and all those involved both on & off the screen.
It gives me immense pleasure to see our young, talented artists of Arunachal Rang Mahotsav performing in the four-city theatre festival in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati.
For a long time, Arunachals story has remained confined within our region. I’m elated to see that the play ‘Arunachal- Ek Safarnama’ is breaking through the confinements and taking the national audience through an immersive journey, unfolding the timeline from the initial NEFA days to the present-day Arunachal Pradesh.
Highly appreciate Director Shri @RikenNgomle and Dramaturge Shri Duyu Tabyo for leading the entire team and showcasing beautifully the stories of Arunachal. I am also hopeful that this will also open up new avenues for future collaborations both in national and international arenas and take our State further in the field of theatre and performing arts.
Best wishes to the entire team.
