@theoldzealand I have thought all leagues should go to shootouts in regular season. Both teams get a point and winner gets an extra point. Like hockey does. Maybe result in teams going super defensive to take the coin flip for the extra point but it’s already happening where a tie is good

@ProspectsUsmnt He brought a last place San Jose team to missing playoffs on a tiebreaker in one year and his transfers he brought in looking good. Will totally revisit this towards the end of the season and see where they are. As a revs fans I’ve seen the high and lows of him.

@JackMac I actually agree with the first part as if they just grew up playing soccer instead they may not be as good but the theory goes deeper. It suggests soccer is the main sport people like, therefore the mls grows, more money is dumped into the sport, coaching gets better, etc.

@CalebPongratz10 Only bad part to me is they don’t do these often so this one in particular sticks out. From what I understand it’s a fairly common thing in Europe to do. But even with that the fact they don’t do it for every game makes this just a bad look

@JeffDLowe If you do it again it should be matched, but agree the ruling at the time was fine because it wasn’t specified and the teams were wrong that with a double sip it’s guaranteed to be right. There are more than 2 options.

@CalebPongratz10 I agree with your stats when it comes to penalties but Steffan makes the best point. Over 50% of the people off the street won’t be able to kick the ball. A pro goalie could genuinely wait until it’s kicked to dive. But a below average soccer player could score on a pro
