BTS very much would’ve easily won their first Grammy in this category but also good on them for taking this stand. they made a great POP album not an “asian album”. this category was more racist than it was to acknowledge asian artists
🚨🎙️Eminem on BTS reportedly choosing not to submit a song for Grammy consideration:
"Good. I respect it. I've been saying for years that artists don't need a gold trophy to prove they're great. If BTS decided they don't need the Grammys, it's because they've already built one of the biggest fanbases in the world. The Grammys don't define greatness, they never have."
"Now, look at someone like Nicki Minaj. Whether you love her or not, her impact on hip-hop is undeniable, yet she's never won a Grammy, then look at Beyonce, she's good but not all that and yet she has the most Grammys?. It goes on to show why people keep questioning the system. It feels like industry politics and behind-the-scenes influence matter more than the music. That's why more artists are realizing they don't need the Grammys, the Grammys need them."
"...they rejected the Grammys"
Taehyung's face instantly lighting up when fans said they love the album. 13 yrs into global dominance, they don't need another dusty trophy to prove their worth. fans' love is the ultimate validation & you could see it written all over his face
FunFact: The Grammys know that BTS could win most of the major categories at the 2027 Grammys, so they introduced the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category to limit BTS from winning in the main categories.
