Today in Prince George, BC, I joined @Enbridge and Minister @KahlonRav to break ground on a $4 billion expansion of BC's natural gas infrastructure — a project that will:
✅ Power 1.5 million homes
✅ Add $3B to Canada's GDP
✅ Create 2,500 jobs for British Columbians
✅ Foster Indigenous prosperity — backed by our government's very first Indigenous Loan Guarantee, supporting equity for 38 First Nations
✅ Support Canada's steel sector by building with first-class, 100% Canadian steel from InterPro Pipe + Steel in Saskatchewan
Starting construction on this project is our promise to you, Canada, that we will never compromise our energy security and affordability as we build out exports of the world's lowest-carbon LNG.
And it's us making good on another promise, too: that we can build with speed, with Indigenous Peoples, using Canadian materials and labour, to become an energy superpower.
Mondays. Traffic was at a standstill. Was late for work. Office building parking was full. Spilt tea on my white shirt. Then dropped strawberries on my white shirt. And it’s not even noon. ☕️

A lot has changed in all of our lives since then.
