@YankeesFanEarl I take it you are asking about good hitting 2nd or 3rd baseman because defensively there aren't any better defensive infielders with control for years than what we have between Chisolm and Peraza. I don't see any other good hitting 3rd baseman or 2nd baseman out there.
He was getting paid to play and he should have respected the team and organization to play hard every game. He didn't do that and put himself above the team by not hustling and not being mentally prepared. He's a Tiger now and it worked out for him and we are in a much better position without him.
@Togethr4Boulder@fleckcap@pinkhasov I understand your point you are making about it's importance and the problem needs to get solved. However, if Trump was giving away lollipops a judge would rule against him and fine him. What's going on is a much bigger issue.
@fleckcap@pinkhasov So every country in the world can tariff the US but the US can't reciprocate? I think it's very clear that we don't have a country just a left leaning judicial system that has taken over the US.
There is a stat you have not included in your analysis of Volpe and it's called the Eye Test and that is more important than all stats. He looks horrible in his at bats, he is constantly trying to pull everything and his leg kicks are different and he will not hit consistently unless he fixes these issues. He should be down the order 7,8, or 9 and no where near 5.

I agree this home run was a great swing but much shorter swing than he was using previously. Here is a video of Vivas turning his shoulder away from the pitcher which made his swing long. On his homer you will see he does not move that back shoulder and that is why he caught up to that pitch. Just my viewpoint!
Jorbit Vivas' at-bat against Ryne Stanek last night was tremendous. As several #Yankees pointed out postgame, it won them the game.
Watch how he settles in and his confidence grows on these three balls in a row after he fell behind 0-2.

This is the first swing that I've seen where Vivas did not rotate his back shoulder away from the pitcher and look what happens! https://t.co/h6earynkb8
I think he would actually make a lot more contact with his swing if he just stops rotating his shoulders away from the ball every time he loads. He's late on everything except offspeed pitches. If he did make more contact then he would get many more hits and then he'd become an exciting player to watch.

I posted this a couple days ago and DJ definitely confirmed what I saw with him. Let's hope we can get a DJ in the lineup consistently as long as he looks like today's DJ.
DJ looks much better despite just a few at bats and that line drive last night was a pitch out of zone but still got his hands inside the ball like a pro. Peraza only hits if the pitcher throws it to his bat and vivas turns his back shoulder away from the pitcher on his load and that is why he is late on the fast ball all the time, he fixes this then he becomes a real hitter. Reyes is a waste of at bats.
