Congratulations to the innovative project "thereMINI - Creating Music with Hand Gestures using FREE-WiLi." by @michiganstateu students at @SpartaHack. The project lead by Evan Fioritto, Richard Glosser, Tess Gonda, and Ramya Ramkumar utilized FREE-WiLi to extract accelerometer data as serial data, converting it to MIDI data for integration into music software like Ableton. This innovative approach enabled hand gestures to be translated into virtual instrument playing.

The project utilized FREE-WiLi to extract accelerometer data as serial data, which was then converted to MIDI data for use in music software like Ableton. This conversion allowed for the translation of hand gestures into virtual instrument playing.

By moving your hand down, the volume increases, while moving it up decreases it. Horizontal movement changes notes within a scale of 8 notes. Combining these gestures enables you to emulate a full virtual keyboard solely through hand movements.

Keysight is expanding the capability of the Novus platform by offering a next-generation vehicle interface that includes 10BASE-T1S, and multi-gigabyte BASE-T1 support for 100 megabytes per second, 2.5 gigabits per second (Gbit/s), 5Gbit/s, and 10Gbit/s. Keysight’s SFP architecture provides a flexible platform to mix and match speeds for each port with modules plugging into existing cards rather than requiring a separate card, as many current test solutions necessitate.

Moving closer to CES 2025!! We have a new demo featuring SOME/IP you can catch at Intrepid's booth 4664.

This demo features a neoVI Pi simulating a network endpoint that controls an LED Matrix. The LED Matrix is managed through SOME/IP messaging using Intrepid’s python-based SOME/IP stack. Our RAD-Gigastar serves as an Active Ethernet Tap, which enables data-logging, SOME/IP interpreting, and payload injection using Intrepid’s Vehicle Spy software.

This demonstration highlights Intrepid’s hardware and software capabilities to create innovative solutions to test, validate, and interface with today’s connected vehicles. See more in the promo below.
