Today, we’re showing off the first bits of Arrowhead, our Half-Life 2 mod set during the so-called “First Days,” where Xen flora and fauna, however briefly, ruled the Earth.

It’s April 1st, and you know what that means: we’re making the first dating sim set in the Half-Life universe! Play as a federal investigator embroiled in the conspiracy and cosmic horror surrounding the aftermath of the Black Mesa Incident. Uncover fugitives, freaks, and… love?
“The constant deluge of quirky visual novel announcements that occur every April 1st are tired and effectively cheapen an entire genre down to a punchline.”
This is true and correct, except if you’re talking about ours. Ours is actually really good.
With some amount of endings, a larger than zero amount of romanceable characters, and gameplay reminiscent of a late 90s first-person visual novel, Arrowhead Dating Sim is sure to make you feel at least a bit weird about being into any of this.
likely my favorite thing i've been involved with in arrowhead, working off jacob's concept art was extremely cool and his texture work is a whole other level
we’ve been waiting for him to age back up in real-time and that’s why we haven’t updated u all in awhile. see you in 40+ years for the next development preview
@Incognit0possum we’re obviously doing this, but establishing even half of what tf2 has takes a lot of time and planning and work, hence why i packaged that environment image with the statement of “we’re still establishing visual style guides and discussing future hopes for our art direction”
