The Speaker of the Zimbabwean Parliament, Jacob Mudenda, is currently putting together plans for a so-called “prayer meeting” for all Zimbabwean parliamentarians.

This prayer meeting will produce a choreographed outcome, which will be a resolution declaring that Zimbabwe needs a break from elections and calling for a Government of National Unity, with Sengezo Tshabangu-aligned opposition MPs getting positions!

Other opposition MPs and politicians outside Tshabangu’s group are being canvased for support in exchange for positions, Mudenda hopes to get the Vice-Presidency if he succeeds.

In February 2020, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) barred Zimbabwe from hosting international football matches due to the substandard conditions of its main stadiums.
An inspection conducted in November 2019 revealed that all of Zimbabwe’s stadiums failed to meet the required standards.

The president was asked yesterday about this sad reality, and he did not even know that his national team has been playing home games in other countries like South Africa and Rwanda.
It is so embarrassing, as this has been happening for over six years, but the CEO of the country doesn’t know about this!

This is the man who wants a third term—to do what, really, other than looting public funds?
The sports minister who presided over this embarrassment was yesterday elected to lead the International Olympic Committee, good riddance some Zimbabweans are saying, but spare a thought for the world sports!
