@LayyLow__@BlockClubCHI I had that thought as well. I know people who grew up in Logan Square who could no longer afford to live there because of gentrification. I don’t want to make huge assumptions, but it’s reasonable to think these tenants are transplants who contributed to gentrification.
@ecrevix@SoveyX Interesting. So there are confounds to the elegantly designed animated graph. I believe there is an adage they teach in high school statistics: correlation does not equal _________.
@RepRickShepherd@jeremyscahill Not a fan or supporter of Trump by any stretch of the imagination, but this is kind of amazing. His transactionalism and amorality sometimes puts him outside the bounds of polite society.
@LauraLoomer@Comey The number 86 can mean more than one thing. But, as always, the gnostic conspiracists among us will latch onto one reductive interpretation and call it truth. Arguing with them is as futile as yelling into the void—satisfying for a moment, but ultimately pointless.
@realrawnews1776@libsoftiktok If you do not trust anything made by humans then do you forgo living in a shelter, wearing clothes, or modern transportation of any means? Just curious where you draw the lines.
@TheDamnSkippy@elonmusk@PaintressApril@realDonaldTrump This is a dangerous idea. While transitions between leaders should be peaceful and cooperative in a democracy, effectively prohibiting the government from operating for several months between these transfers of power could impact people in very real ways.
@mikeytime414 @USDOT I guess I can’t complain. We got the cancellation message 4 and half hours after the flight was supposed to take off. It was utter confusion.
@EndWokeness Anti-natalism has been around for millennia, so the idea is not “progressive.” If we stop procreating we end suffering. In a universe impervious to the plight of homo sapiens, this seems a reasoned position. However, I don’t blame anyone for wanting to procreate. We are animals.
@JimNasiun@libsoftiktok Good point. Just like a lot of tweets, it seemed insightful at the moment. It is, however, a fascinating sociological experiment to see others reactions to this (yours was the only rational one).
