ON THIS DAY in 1956, Anthony Bourdain, the American Chef Who Brought Armenia & Artsakh to Millions Worldwide, Was Born. 🇦🇲

In October 2017, the late Anthony Bourdain came to Armenia and Artsakh to film an episode of his CNN series "Parts Unknown."

When it aired in May 2018, he brought the Armenian nation to millions around the world, capturing the spirit of a nation in a single sentence — one that speaks to survival, memory, and the quiet power of a people who endure.

"Armenia remains a dream, a subject of stories; it is still, against all odds, a place." — Anthony Bourdain

Guided by Serj Tankian and others, his journey explored Armenia's culture, history, and the resilience of its people. His visit to Artsakh led to his blacklisting by Azerbaijan — a testament to his commitment to telling the stories others avoid.

Through his lens, Bourdain gave voice to a nation whose story had gone unheard for too long.
