Hate to be that guy, but I'll say it
It’s striking how, in so many r4pe cases that make it to the internet, the alleged perpetrators often appear completely untouched, with no signs that anyone tried to harm them. But let two consenting adult men be caught together, and suddenly you’ll see crowds of Nigerian men willing to beat them to the brink of death. The contrast in public outrage says a lot about what society chooses to respond to.
I had a Landlord-Client whose tenant committed suicide in his apartment in Ikeja some years ago and despite the glaring evidence that the guy killed himself, the landlord was arrested, detained for over 2 weeks in State CID, Panti before being charged to court...
Yet, in this same country, a young lady died is suspicious circumstances in the house of a Minister and the Nigerian Police has not even bothered to release a statement not to talk of inviting or arresting the minister and other inhabitants of his home.
Disgraced country.
YOU KNOW WHAT GENUINELY TERRIFIES ME?????!!!!
The Nigerians who have lived/ visited abroad.
They’ve seen uninterrupted electricity.
They’ve driven on roads that don’t kill people.
They’ve experienced healthcare that treats you before asking if you can afford to live.
They’ve seen governments that actually work for the people.
Then they come back home…
…and tell 230 million people to be grateful for the barest minimum.
It genuinely breaks my heart.
Because once you’ve seen what a working system looks like, how do you return and convince people that suffering is normal?
How do you applaud failure just because it favours you?
The tragedy of this country isn’t only the people who don’t know any better.
It’s the people who do know better…
…and still teach everyone else to expect less.
That is exactly why we are where we are 💔💔💔
I worked with Lebanese “expats” who lived in guest houses in VI while I lived in ikeja. It was a huge factor in their productivity. Theyd stay longer in the office and get home in 5 mins while I still was on 3MB. Before I get home they’ve sent emails done extra work.
REMINDER!
Mrs. Mojisolaoluwa Kehinde Alli-Macaulay was accused of hoarding the COVID-19 relief materials meant for her constituency and later using the same as party packs at her birthday event.
Ironically, in 2024, Tinubu appointed her to serve as the Executive Director of Operations at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
She is still on that job, managing “social insurance funds,” while still carrying the scandal of looting relief packages meant for social intervention.✍️
our regional manager flew in from the uk lastweek
she told us the most uncomfortable part of the trip wasn’t the flight, it was the taxi ride from the airport, cos the driver was asking her out
my boss said how come ??
she said he kept saying .. “pls show me love.” 😭😭😭
