It’s been a few days since I’ve made a post anywhere. I went through a mini crisis of my own doing haha. But I’ve been doing a lot as well.

Seeing a couple rocks but also seeing more than just rocks. I think that’s what it means to be an artist.

Not sure what I was thinking when I went out early in the morning, saw a pile of a million rocks, and thought ‘yeah, that’s what I want to paint’ haha. Somehow I liked how it turned out and made it work.

It was rare to get a cloudy day during the summer and autumn months at Folsom Lake in California. I had seen only blue sky and sun for so long that I actually wanted clouds for a change. I was lucky to get a couple of paintings with clouds. This is one of them.

This is a page from my sketchbook I’ve brought with me to Malaysia for 3 months. The paper isn’t really meant for watercolors but it can handle it to some extent. It allows me to draw or sketch when I want to and paint a little when I want to. #Sabah #Malaysia #Kundasang

After living in California for 12 years, I’ve now moved on and have moved elsewhere. This next year will bring many changes. Excited to see what’s to come. Embracing the change and going with the flow. It’s all less scary than I thought it would be - like most things in life.

Painted this almost 1 year ago. This was painted in a sketchbook because I was too afraid to bring my tripod out and paint standing up with all my gear. A lot has changed in one year. But regardless of all that, I still like this painting. More to come soon.

Fun painting session from this weekend. If I get the chance to add a small figure to my landscapes, I go with it. Brings more scale and interest to them usually.
