She was asked about this in 2019. She defended it again in 2025. The implication is clear: there are real Germans and there are legal Germans. One category is permanent. The other is conditional.

I did not need to hear this from a politician to know it exists. I have felt it in rooms, in silences, in the way some people recalibrate their warmth when they learn where I am from. But hearing it stated openly, from a party polling at 30%, is a different thing entirely.

If you are an immigrant in Germany and you are not paying attention to this, you should be.

Were some of the journalists killed by Israel in Gaza actually Hamas fighters? Yes.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad have now confirmed it themselves, in their own obituaries — naming some of the dead they'd previously let the world call "journalists" as their own military operatives.

Does that justify Israel killing over 250 journalists in Gaza? Absolutely not.

A few confirmed cases are not a license to treat an entire press corps as guilty by association. The vast majority of journalists killed in Gaza were never even accused of anything — no document, no claim, no allegation. They were doing their jobs.

Dear @gidonsaar With all due respect, having lived in apartheid South Africa & then served under Nelson Mandela in our first democratic Parliament, both Mandela & Archbishop Desmond Tutu, not only described Israel as an apartheid state but suggested it is a more brutal form of apartheid than they experienced in SA. Having visited Israel & the OPTs numerous times, I share their view. Israel was apartheid SA’s closest ally. Just as apartheid was ended in SA so too will it end in Israel/Palestine
