The ONLY reason we’re getting this at a playable price today is because Montgomery is coming off a HR last night. Before that tank, he was hitless in 24 STRAIGHT PA’s and had just 4 total hits across his L19 games. One swing last night isn’t enough for us to ignore how bad his recent form has been.

He’s overall a bottom 1% xBA bat in the entire league and an insane 43% of his plate appearances end in either a strikeout or a walk. Montgomery batted under .200 across 638 total PA’s this season.

Now add in the matchup against Hunter Brown, who Montgomery has already struggled against. He’s 0-6 in his career against Brown and has an AWFUL .179 BA vs RHP this season, while Brown has held LHH to just a .204 batting average.

Yes, he took one deep last night. That’s also exactly why we’re not being asked to lay some ridiculous price on the under today. With how often Montgomery strikes out or walks, we have multiple paths to this cashing. With these odds, it’s simple math for us ALL DAY on this one.
