Back by popular demand. The Campfire Stage returns to ASCP26 this September.
One of the most talked-about parts of last year's event is coming back, right in the middle of the exhibition hall. Honest, peer-led conversation about the real challenges of housing safety and compliance, led by people doing the work, not a script. If the best conversations happen informally, this is where they happen at ASCP26.

Non-access remains one of the most persistent challenges in statutory compliance, across gas, electrical, building safety, and damp and mould inspections. This masterclass takes a different approach, applying behavioural science and real sector case studies to understand the problem and design better responses.
Rather than treating non-access as resident disengagement alone, the programme reframes it as a behavioural and service design challenge. Learners diagnose the drivers behind missed appointments and refusals, redesign contact, appointment and escalation processes, and leave with a practical action plan to test within their own organisation.
Delivered by behavioural science specialist Anna O'Halloran in partnership with the ASCP. Three online sessions via Microsoft Teams, 7.5 hours of CPD, limited to 20 places per cohort.
Aimed at decision-makers responsible for policy, process and performance, including Compliance Managers, Heads of Compliance and Building Safety, Heads of Asset Management and Heads of Housing Services.
Starts: 5 August

Across UK social housing, around 1 in 4 homes may not be accessed on the first safety visit.
When gas servicing, electrical inspections, fire safety work and damp and mould investigations are repeatedly delayed, risk doesn't disappear. It stays hidden inside the home.
Access for Safety is calling for a clearer, fairer legal route for prescribed safety checks when reasonable engagement has failed. Read the evidence and the proposed reform in our white paper.

Research carried out by the ASCP suggests that tackling hard-to-access properties costs the sector in excess of £100 million a year.
And with Awaab's Law now in force, with phases two and three set to bring almost all housing hazards into scope, the pressure on compliance teams has never been greater.
At ASCP26 this September, we're not just talking about it. We're going deep.
A full panel discussion - No access, no excuses - brings together sector leaders on what's working, what isn't and what needs to change. Expect honest conversation, practical learning and updates on the Access for Safety campaign.
And then there's the courtroom.
Karen Jones, Barrister who has prepared witnesses for the Lockerbie trial and the Bloody Sunday Inquiry leads a live Awaab's Law courtroom drama. A delegate faces real cross-examination. You'll see exactly what happens when compliance fails and safety ends up on trial.
If you carry responsibility for keeping residents safe, both sessions are unmissable.

Earlier this week Ignite landed with a dedicated preview magazine to ASCP26.
One thing that stands out in this year's insert: the sheer breadth of what's covered.
Gas. Fire. Electrical. Building safety. Damp and mould. Awaab's Law. Asbestos. Decarbonisation. Leadership and safety culture. This isn't a highlights reel. Every compliance discipline has depth, not just a mention.

Safety can't wait outside. That's why we created the Access for Safety campaign. The ASCP is calling for a clear, safeguarded legal route for prescribed safety checks when repeated reasonable attempts to arrange access have failed.
The numbers behind it are stark.
An estimated £245 million annual cost to the sector. Thousands of homes where gas and electrical hazards could be going unresolved. A legal route that remains fragmented and inconsistent.
We're talking about access at ASCP26 this September. Not just the operational challenge but the systemic change the sector needs, and what it means in practice for compliance teams dealing with it every day.

16+ hours of CPD. But let's talk about why that number actually matters.
In a sector where individual decisions can become evidence. Where your records, your judgement and your actions can be scrutinised by regulators, barristers and coroners being demonstrably up to date is part of how you protect yourself, your colleagues and your organisation.
CPD is not a box to tick. It is a record of professional development that shows you took your responsibility seriously, stayed current with regulation and sought out the best available guidance. That matters when things go wrong.
At ASCP26 you earn those hours across sessions you build yourself going deep on the disciplines most relevant to your role, across gas, electrical, fire, building safety, Awaab's Law and more.
16+ CPD hours. A programme you shape. A record that holds up.

The most valuable thing about ASCP26 isn't just what happens on the main stage.
It's the conversation you have in the break. The peer you meet at welcome drinks who's dealing with the exact same challenge. The session that shifts how you see a problem you've been carrying for months.
This September in Newport, 750+ housing safety and compliance professionals come together for two days that go well beyond a conference.
Welcome drinks on the Monday evening to ease you in. A golf day to connect on the green. The Women in Compliance session with professional coach Stephanie. Three stages of expert content. 10 hours across the exhibition hall with 60+ exhibitors, the Campfire Stage and the brand new Insights Stage. A black tie awards evening for 500+ guests.
All of it designed around one thing: the people doing this work, and what they need to do it better.
Come with your challenges. Leave with your people.

1 in 4 homes may not be accessed on the first safety visit. 200,000+ social homes could contain an at-risk or immediately dangerous gas installation. 90,000+ could contain a dangerous electrical problem.
These aren't abstract risks. They are hazards that exist inside homes right now and the only thing standing between them and a resolution is a front door that won't open.
Access is the most persistent, most costly and most consequential challenge in housing compliance.
The ASCP is not just talking about it this September. We're bringing solutions.
At ASCP26, access gets the session it deserves. And we'll be sharing more about the Access for Safety campaign - calling for a clear, safeguarded legal route for prescribed safety checks when reasonable engagement has failed.
