Jamey Chadwell highlighted a couple players he hopes can take a step and provide additional depth on the DL:
"John Custis and Henry Hicks. Those guys need to really take a step and give us some depth there because we're going to need that."
Jamey Chadwell highlighted two scout team freshmen that are improving each week: DL Xavier Reid and RB Cam Wood.
"Those two have consistently been guys that each week, these guys are giving a good look."
Jamey Chadwell on a potential G6 playoff:
"I personally am in favor of a G6 playoff. I've been in favor of that for a while. The way the money is at P4, the gap gets wider and wider every year. I think it would be great. I would love to see that. I'm for it. To know you still have a chance, if you win your league, to go to a playoff I think is pretty cool."
Jamey Chadwell on QB Deshawn Purdie:
"He's still a work in progress. He's really learning how to play the QB position. He's got, obviously, a lot of natural ability. He's improved each week. Week 2 was as bottom as bottom could be, but, to his credit, he's improved each week."
Jamey Chadwell on Liberty starting safety Jeremiah Vessel's injury status against Kennesaw:
"I don't anticipate him being available....I think he will be out. We should get Ashton Whitner back, he missed against Sam Houston. Ron Moore has been out, hopefully he will be back."
Jamey Chadwell highlighted 3rd down and red zone as two areas of improvement needed from the offense moving forward.
"We haven't been able to meet what we believe is championship level operation. We looked at the percentages that the best in this conference are, and we're not there in the red zone and we're not there on third down."
Jamey Chadwell on Kennesaw State:
"They are struggling a little bit right now, but a couple years ago it was a similar situation and we went down there and got beat. We've let our guys know the importance of this game."
