@AP4Liberty We can cut down on violence by ejecting people who need to be ejected, jailing people who need jailed, and committing people who need to be committed.
Anything else and you will just get Chicago everywhere.
'More gun regulations' is a very dated & unserious policy proposition.
If you break our laws to enter our country, you shouldnโt receive taxpayer-funded benefits, and you certainly shouldnโt get to stay.
Keep the arrests coming.
The left says demanding assimilation is bigotry and that every culture is equally valid. So what happens when imported values collide with the principles that built a free society?
Liberty doesn't exist in a vacuum. It depends on borders, shared values, and the rule of law. Without them, freedom becomes impossible to defend.
Do you agree?
@AP4Liberty I just couldn't bring myself to finish Youngblood. The New Colossus had a couple things i was ๐, especially with the Debra Wilson insert & the alcoholic commie (BJ does clap back at him), but it was still fun. Youngblood was just bad, cool 80s vibes but just bad everything else.
Knowing a skill isn't enough if you don't know how to teach.
Because if you don't know how to teach, you can't pass on what you know.
Learning a skill has three distinct phases, presented in rotation: education, practice, and training.
Education happens with the eyes and ears. It's where you learn what you should be doing. What an ideal execution of the skill looks like. How to hold the golf club. How to align your front and rear sights with your eye. How to throw a right cross.
There is no point in doing until you know what proper doing looks like. Otherwise you cannot correct yourself.
After education comes practice. You know what you should do, but you won't be able to do it, not at first. You'll try, and it will be wrong.
That's fine. What's important is that you know that it's wrong, and you know what right should look like. Then you can correct yourself, bit by bit.
Practice must be performed under as little stress as possible. Because you're not using the skill, you're trying to learn it. Slow down. Relax. Make the task as easy as it needs to be, because the important thing is make the execution correct.
Move the target in. Put away the shot timer. Go slow.
When you have practiced enough to be able to consistently execute a proper repetition of the skill, then, at last, it is time for training.
The goal of training is to learn to perform the skill under stress. How much stress? However much stress you will be under when you need to use the skill.
In training, you start out with standard practice repetitions. Then you increase some aspect of pressure until you start to fail. Then you practice at precisely that level until you succeed, consistently.
Then you increase the pressure again.
So, should an instructor bark at a student?
Yes, sometimes. Sometimes, in training, that is precisely the source of the stress you need to apply.
But when you bark, you must bark in a calculated manner, to achieve an intended effect. Not because you, personally, are frustrated and do not have the self-control and maturity to impose a filter between your feelings and your actions.
Barking at a student in education serves no purpose.
Barking at a student in practice serves no purpose.
Only in training does barking help.
There is only one thing that humans can learn under stress, and that is how to do under stress what they already know how to do in calmer conditions.
An instructor must know this.
He must be able to be patient and considerate and calm, and he must be able to be stern and demanding and scary. Both of these must be tools in his toolbox, under the command of his reason, knowledge, and experience.
Not compulsions from his own feelings.
