We were delighted to welcome Anthony Benedict from the Ambition Community Trust today, who delivered an inspiring session on trauma-informed practice and relational inclusion to our teacher trainees.π
One of our teacher trainees, Carly (PGCE Primary), has launched a lunchtime club where the children are starting with number bonds in their first session. Itβs wonderful to see the amazing initiatives our trainees are taking during their placements!
A new lunchtime club has begun in year 1 today, βMaths magiciansβπͺ. The children had lots of fun working together and practicing their number bonds to 10 β¨
We had a fantastic time on Saturday at the Get Into Teaching event in Manchester. It was inspiring to meet so many enthusiastic individuals eager to embark on their teaching careers. It was also lovely to see our colleagues at the AMP SCITT.
Primary PGCE trainee Claire has set up a KS1 reading club at her placement school. Each week the children focus on a different book and become reading detectives. The children are thoroughly enjoying their new lunchtime club! π

KS1 have a brand new βLittle Bookwormsβ reading club. The children enjoyed their first session becoming reading detectives to make predictions about what might happen. They then enjoyed reading the story and joining in with different parts. #readingclub#readingculture π΅π½ π π
Our teacher trainees are now taking responsibility for the teaching and learning of science on their primary PGCE placements. Our trainee, Freya, has planned and implemented lessons on deciduous and evergreen trees and led her Y1 class to investigate their local environment! π
Yesterday, we had the honour of visiting The University of Staffordshire to celebrate the achievements of our exceptional graduates from our BA (Hons) in Education and Foundation Degree in Education programmes. Congratulations all. π π
