I'm going to cut to the chase first. After 16 hours in the ER and a myriad of imaging and talking with a neurosurgeon, I need emergency surgery on my back before I become paralyzed from the neck down. I'm very high risk, so they are trying for outpatient 3-4 weeks out. 🧵2/6

I have a very strict list of symptoms and if I meet any of them in the next four weeks, I will be taken in for surgery right then and there. They also found a tumor in my bone marrow. At this time I don't know what's going to become of that, but atm they *think* it's benign.🧵3/6

So what happened? I took a spill. As many of you know, I am (was?) an ambulatory wheelchair user. I can do short spurts out of my wheelchair and often help my crew with set up where I can. We were set with moving our entire 10x30 storage unit by the 4th. I was helping-> 🧵4/6

to stabilize a metal shelf being moved into the truck. There was a miscommunication and I had my head in the shelf to fix a wrung that had popped off and the shelf was tipped over for load while I was bent over in it and I went down with the shelf by my neck and head. 🧵5/6

I have three herniated discs in my neck, and two in my mid and lower back. The discs in my neck are crushing my spinal cord. In the initial image, the white is the outer sheath of your spinal cord and the black is the core. No work, walking or travel for me for a while. 🧵6/6

It's been 5 years together since our wedding at ANW'18. ❤️ For our anniversary this year we have been doing some needed tlc for Ashaeda's head and are excited to share her new bodysuit at MFF this year. This body has been a WIP for 4 years, hiding in a box in storage. 🎊♥️🕊
