Wow.
Stick around for the end of this. It's worth it.
Today, I woke up to piles of strangers in my mentions attacking the sales of Superman: Son of Kal-El issue #6 and celebrating the failure of our comic... 🧵
"a staggering forty-five percent of respondents reported damages greater than “normal." Two-thirds of those reported up to thirty percent of their comics as being unsalable, and nearly twenty percent say over a third of their shipment as destroyed."
Tilting at Windmills #287: The Era Changes Part Two - Penguin Random House's first week distributing comics to comics shops was a disaster https://t.co/kO5KpCHH7d
@Marvel Distribution via @penguinrandom to comic retailers isn't impressing me much. A full 70% of our shipment was poorly packed and damaged after months of assurances that they would be properly handled "since we're aware they're collectibles". 1/?
@penguinrandom Y’all need to do a lot better than this. Especially if y’all aren’t taking returns or replacing damaged shipment. Marvel should really consider cutting the contract.
So… #Marvel we need to talk.
Your first shipment of #Penguin comics books were largely damaged, ruined or just went missing. Us hardcore comic fans might take it for a week or two but casual comic fans might walk away after more than that. This was our distributor note.

Quick note. Went in to check in the Marvel shipment this morning. This is how 35% of it looks. Don’t have enough to cover holds for all but 3 titles (Legend of Black Panther, Ka-Zar and (Mercifully) X-Men). Replacements are doubtful. Guessing this is the future of Marvel Comics.
The Unfortunate Return of the Pandemic Panic Film Festival The Unfortunate Return of the Pandemic Panic Film Festival Last year I came up with the idea of the Pandemic Panic Film Festival. One of the few good things to come out of the pandemic... https://t.co/DXzftXUbwy
I was lukewarm to this film but, honestly, this is the sort of energy teenage me expected from Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson when they first went Hollywood. That's deliciously deranged.
@crystarius@selinacomics@DCComics My guess (hope) is that these all will be published and this is simply DC making hype. The writers and artists on these pitches seem to be suggesting as much. If not, this is a rather cruel way of launching books. 🤞
