Me don’t see how this answers what me was asking. You’ve added another condition that wasn’t in the original post. That new condition being whether they have the potential to gain/regain that conceptual faculty. But even if me grants that, you’d basically be treating the sort of severely cognitively impaired individual that me is referring to as basically brain dead/corpse. That doesn’t necessarily follow. Lacking said conceptual faculty and being brain dead aren’t the same thing. One can be alive, conscious and responsive while still lacking said conceptual faculty. Unless we are using different definitions of conceptual faculty, in which case could you clarify?
