@Suzanne_VY I was deeply moved by this story, and prayed about the family for quite a while this morning. Couldnโt bear to think of them being made to feel unwelcome here in any way. News from Yemen was so very hard tonight as well.
@AshfordSchool A privilege to be at prep prize giving on Friday. James and Chloe spoke so well - a credit to their superb teachers. I donโt know how Rosie and Chris have managed the Herculean task of steering the prep school through this year, a truly outstanding achievement. Huge respect.
A prayer as the school year ends:
Almighty God, we give thanks for all that has been achieved this year, and for imagination and determination to rapidly change how teaching is provided. We offer you our gratitude, thanking you for guiding Ashford School through huge challenges.
Open for prayer only. Tuesdays from 12 noon until 2pm and Fridays from 3pm to 5pm. Prayer prompts projected onto the screen to help anyone wishing to pray quietly for a while in a socially distanced way. Stay close to God, but keep your distance from everyone else please.
@StaceyERand Congratulations to you Stacey, Iโm recalling ordination 10 years ago on Friday in the same beloved cathedral on the Feast of St Thomas - how appropriate for me!
Even in the most unpromising of settings, the underside of a motorway bridge, a family rests today - symbolic of purity, beauty, grace, and love. Have you been surprised by beauty in ugly places?
Very thankful for technology keeping us meeting together in lockdown. St Maryโs opening soon for prayer and then public worship on the horizon, a psalm comes to mind:
By the rivers of Babylon,
we sat down and wept,
when we remembered Zoom.
Quiet late afternoon at Hatch Park among the shy fallow dear. I hope we retain our rediscovered appreciation for the beauty around us, with all the health benefits.
Lockdown enabled me to embark on a truly fantastic journey. Never before have I sensed the nearness of God as I have through the movement in Scripture from Exodus, giving way to Numbers then Joshua... God faithfully with his people through their disorientation. Boundless love.
