तो ऐसा है, अगर कोई पुरुष नग्न होकर राखी बँधवाता तो इसका भी विरोध ही होता। ठीक है, कुत्ते को भी राखी बाँध दिया। बहुत बड़े सुधारवादी बन गए। सनातन में सभी जीव-जंतुओं के साथ सहज सह-अस्तित्व को बढ़ावा दिया गया है। लेकिन, ये इस सुधारवाद का दायरा थोड़ा और बढ़ाओ। ज़रा पता करो कि किसी कुत्ते को लेकर मक्का-मदीना ले जा सकते हो या नहीं।

जब भी कोई अपराध होता है तो पुलिस जाँच में सबसे अधिक माथापच्ची उसके प्रयोजन को खोजने में लगाया जाता है। Motive, मतलब इरादा क्या था अपराधी का। इस विज्ञापन के इरादे नेक नहीं लगते, ऐसा प्रतीत होता है जैसे सनातन धर्म की रीतियों को अपमानित करने के लिए ही इसे बनाया गया है। ठीक वैसे ही, जैसे 'मान्यवर' के आलिया भट्ट वाले विज्ञापन में कन्यादान का मजाक बनाया गया था।

मुझे कुत्ते से कोई समस्या नहीं है। चलो ये भी मान लिया कि एक कुत्ते को स्वर्ग ले जाने के लिए युधिष्ठिर अड़ गए थे। लेकिन, रक्षाबंधन स्पेन का टोमैटो फेस्टिवल नहीं है। ये एक धार्मिक त्योहार है। राखी बाँधना या बँधवाना अनुष्ठान का हिस्सा है। अनुष्ठान के कुछ नियम-क़ानून होते हैं। उसमें नग्नता अथवा अश्लीलता घुसाना सुधार नहीं कहलाएगा। तुम पूजा की थाली हटा दोगे, हिन्दू त्योहार को सेक्युलर बनाने के लिए। कुत्ता घुसा दोगे। महिलाओं के कपड़े उतरवा दोगे। फिर ज्ञान दोगे। आरती की थाली का कहीं कोई अता-पता नहीं है। तिलक का कहीं कोई अता-पता नहीं है। सेक्युलरिज़्म ऐसा नहीं चलता है।

कल को ये दारू पीते लोगों को रक्षाबंधन मनाते हुए दिखाएँगे। फिर कहेंगे कि हमने चीजों को आज के हिसाब से ढाला है। अभी कुत्ते पर प्रेम उमड़ रहा है, बकरीद आते ही पशुप्रेम के सारे दिखावे हवा हो जाएँगे। क्रिसमस पर दुनियाभर में 10 करोड़ टर्की पक्षी मारे जाते हैं, तब भी ये प्रेम गायब रहता है।
