A10 I have found in my teaching so far that my students learn much better when their peers are helping them. I think that it's as simple as using questioning in the class so that students can answer and put it in a context that resonates better with their classmates! #tcrwp
Incredibly insightful outlook from the #tcrwp Twitter chat tonight. We need to always make sure that we're celebrating the growth that our students are making!
A9 While it helps to scaffold our actual instruction and guided practice, I also think that small group work allows for the feedback our students need to feel a little bit of success and gain the confidence to be independent! #tcrwp
@KeidelTabitha@NoelleThiering A8 Sticky notes are actually my key tool as well! They are so helpful! I like to use folders to keep things clear and simple as well. #tcrwp
@BrittanyNocito A6 Going off what Brittany said here, my favorite activity is also a shared reading. We call it a "Book Club", and we discuss books that they are reading in class! Our focus is on improving reading and collaboration skills. #tcrwp
A5 I always try to write things down the moments that they happen, otherwise I will definitely forget! I have a notebook and before meeting with students, I'll make a chart for easy reference! #tcrwp
A4 This is something that I'm working on! Right now I try to incorporate collaborate activities to allow them to "pair-share" and discuss what they just learned before they practice it on their own! #tcrwp
A3 I think that this is another great way to incorporate collaborative learning. If I want to keep what I say concise and to keep it student focused, I try to direct it into a question for their peers so that they can work together! #tcrwp
I think that this is something that is so important for all teachers to remember! We're not teaching just to teach the content but for each individual student. We need to go back to being observers to learn how we can meet their needs!
A2 While at Coaching of Writing, we spent a good deal of time being silent observers, taking note of student strengths and areas for growth (or misunderstanding). I think we tend to overplan, when slowing down and observing can give us all the clues we need to teach. #TCRWP
A2 I think that taking advantage of start time for formative assessment could be beneficial. My host teacher and I also have a mentor text for easy on-the-go reference! Although this is something that I would love to hear how others keep prepared! #TCRWP
Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, and I'm an English Education student at William Woods University. I'm so excited to be joining the chat tonight! #tcrwp
@JosephDavisEDU A3: One area that Iโm working on this semester is implementing different styles of opportunities to respond! I think that allowing my students to respond more will make my teaching more effective! #WWU411
@JosephDavisEDU A2: My greatest success so far has been just gaining the confidence to start implementing classroom management tactics! Be able to finally feel like I can actually do that is something Iโm really proud of!
@JosephDavisEDU A1: So far, my student teaching experience has been incredible! Iโm loving every day more and more as I get to work with some pretty incredible students!
