@brownam130 If you are interested in reading further about transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS), here's an interesting study. Though it had quite a few flaws, 93% of the participants had no TIPS-related complications & there was improvement in renal function!#EmoryACPNP2022

Type 1 is a rapidly progressive impairment of kidney function that's associated with a precipitating factor. Type 2 is a slowly progressive impairment in kidney function. Which type do you think has the better prognosis?#EmoryACPNP2022

@brownam130 It was interesting to me that the previous ICA criteria was a sCr>2.5 mg/dL. It surprises me that the new guidelines continue to only look at sCr. UOP should be added to the guidelines - both are invaluable in showing how the kidneys are perfusing. #ACPNPChat #EmoryACPNP2022
