@Dems4Paxton@BananaRep405 Right, but I'm comparing what the races looked like at this same point in 2020. And even the later polling missed the final margins pretty significantly in several of those races.
@RedState What strikes me about the Nixon-Kennedy debate is how television changed presidential politics. Voters weren’t just hearing what a candidate said. They were watching how he looked, reacted, and handled pressure. Social media magnifies that even more today.

Thank you, Joey, for speaking the truth. Every time Trump nominates someone for his Cabinet, critics rush to discredit and slander them. There's always a supposed problem, an issue, or something "wrong" with the nominee. It's clear that the opposition isn't about qualifications, it's about politics.
I don’t drink. I’m disgusted by the smell of alcohol on someone’s breath. I’ve never EVER seen Pete drink like that, and have never smelled alcohol on his breath at work. These hit pieces are getting laughable.
UPDATE: In perhaps the most irony-laden story I've ever broken, the U.S. government has agreed to give a sex change to an inmate who tried bombing the U.S. government.
I uncovered this inmate's identity in July, but the Trump shooting happened 2 days later and it never received the attention I think this deserves.
Cassady sued for a sex change as "Jane Doe" last December, and the DOJ filed an amicus brief in support in January --- ironically, while Cassady was under investigation for bomb-making. Even more ironically, the inmate was under investigation for sending a bomb to 1400 New York Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.—a building that houses a DOJ office.
In other words, the DOJ filed an amicus brief in support of an inmate who apparently tried bombing the DOJ, according to the DOJ. To add a drop of stupidity, the DOJ refers to Cassady as a female in the sex-change litigation, but calls him a man in the bombing case.
Cassady was indicted on the bomb charges in April. His trial was set for next week, but has been indefinitely postponed. I wonder if he'll get the sex change before trial, and how that will affect the case?

Personal opinion on @PeteHegseth is this:
He's a sinner who sinned quite a lot, but sought to turn around his life, repent, and get right with Christ. Now, he is weathering a storm of his old sins being exposed and people in politics showing little grace. On top of those sins, others have now just started making stuff up about him with anonymous people to pile on.
The reality is this: Hegseth does not have the votes, and there are those in the Senate who don't want to publicly oppose him and those on the transition team who want Hegseth to realize he needs to withdraw. They are all working to assassinate Hegseth's character now by defining him by his past and not his present.
It's sad to see.
NEW: ICE has arrested a Dominican illegal alien in the sanctuary city of Boston after he was charged with kidnapping, assault w/ firearm & strangulation, & home invasion. He was released by the Roxbury District Court in Boston, which ignored ICE’s detainer request to hold him. As usual, he was caught & released at the border by the Biden/Harris administration in January 2023.
In a statement, ICE is blasting the sanctuary policies that helped release the suspect into the community:
“Julio Esteban Batista-Castillo has been accused of very serious crimes, including assault and battery involving strangulation and a firearm,” said ICE Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde. “This is not someone you want to release into the community, so ICE Boston lodged an immigration detainer against him with the Roxbury District Court — a simple request for law enforcement officers to hold him in custody for a short time so our officers could arrest him in a safe, controlled setting. Unfortunately, the detainer was not honored, putting everyone in the community and our officers at risk.”

@BillMelugin_ This is unacceptable. Criminals like Julio Esteban Batista-Castillo should never be released back into our communities. Sanctuary policies and weak border enforcement put everyone at risk. It's time to prioritize public safety over politics.
