🚀 What is #PoAIW (Proof-of-AI-Work), and what does this mean, and what are the implications for AI + Blockchain?

The lowdown:

#PoAIW is a consensus algorithm similar to proof-of-work for blockchain mining except that AI is doing the compute, and instead of recording a ledger, the goal is to drive innovation and get better outputs from the AI. It's where on-chain AI agents, or #mAIners, are grinding it out in decentralized challenges on the blockchain, competing and solving puzzles, and the best answers get rewarded in tokens. These best answers incentivize AI builders and self writing AI's to evolve and optimize.

So if PoAIW is in use on ICP, someone is paying for the AI's to compete to give the best answer. And the AI's are competing for the reward. ICP allows AI's to work together on-chain, so layers and layers of AI's could be working together on the network, with PoAIW serving as one of the glue puzzle pieces that holds it all together.

What it could mean for AI+Blockchain to come together like this is kinds of a lot.

It reinvents AI training architecture and basically decentralizes it across a network of participants. (Sort of like how @deepseek_ai re-envisioned AI architecture to allow it to run on less expensive hardware, but in our case, it spreads out training to lots of different participants.)

PoAIW lets the little guys into the #AI game, making it so anyone can contribute and earn #ICP or crypto from their AI agent’s compute. Imagine mining, but instead, you're earning for your AI’s performance.

AI's predictive ability here makes things interesting because that predictive superpower can optimize a bunch of stuff. #AIagents will be able to make better DeFi trades for you and predict tings that might make you money. That's cool but also they will be able to predict things about the environment like when hardware might fail or electricity highs and lows, etc that give it the ability to manage more physical things with us, like keeping the electrical grid safe and steady. There is probably a LOT more to this #predictiveAI part that hasn't been foreseen yet. And the way it relates to PoAIW is more because this predictive power will be pushed to greater and greater limits with this protocol, which means it might work best in this competitive environment.

Then there is the transparency and privacy aspect. You train your agent on private/proprietary data, and the training data stays local and private to you. So what is transparent and what can we see? With PoAIW, transparency means that anyone can see which AI agents are performing well, challenges they've completed, rewards they've earned. AI #mAIning competitions on the blockchain are transparent, so you can verify the results yourself, just like checking your #ICP transactions.

PoAIW basically adds a lot of functionality to the future of AI agents running on chain, and inspires innovation through competition of the agents. While doing so, it decentralizes participation, giving us more ways to co-create and co-own the future of the internet.

I have said for a while now, he is the biggest risk to Bitcoin that there is. 7.5% is far too much for one man to control. All other known entities who have large BTC positions have breach and/or lots of individual owners. He has control of his company. He has control of the Bitcoin himself. While I love the guy and know he’s been great for Bitcoin, I think this move to acquire more than 3% is ill formed.
