Canada has introduced legislation that could bar children under 16 from having social media accounts unless platforms can prove they are safe. The bill targets harmful content and proposes the establishment of a Digital Safety Commission of Canada. Canada joins countries including Australia, Brazil and Indonesia in imposing or proposing age-based restrictions on social media use.

In a counter-terrorist operation in Kulgam, Jammu & Kashmir on December 19, 2024, Lance Naik Meenatchi Sundaram displayed extraordinary courage in the face of extreme danger.

During the operation, he sustained severe gunsh0t wounds to his face and shoulder.

For most people, that would have been the end of the fight.

For him, it wasn't.

Despite his injuries, he continued engaging the terrorists with remarkable determination and battlefield courage.

His actions led to the elimination of a terrorist and played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of his fellow soldiers and the success of the mission.

For this exceptional act of gallantry, President Droupadi Murmu conferred upon him the Kirti Chakra, one of India's highest peacetime gallantry awards.

The honor recognizes not only bravery under fire but also the spirit of selfless service that defines the finest traditions of the Indian Army.

Stories like his remind us that courage is not the absence of fear.

It is the decision to continue moving forward despite pain, danger, and uncertainty.
