Torrential rains have caused catastrophic flooding and landslides in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with Juiz de Fora and Uba hardest hit. More than 60 lives have been lost, and over 5,500 people have been forced from their homes.

Mud has buried houses. Families are grieving. Survivors are searching through debris.

Lions Clubs International Foundation awarded a US$100,000 Major Catastrophe Grant so Lions can provide critical aid on the ground. Earlier this year, LCIF also supported communities worldwide with Emergency Grants affected by floods, landslides, wildfires, cyclones and storms, including Zambia, Kosovo, Albania, the United States, Chile, New Zealand, Indonesia, Italy, Mozambique, Canada, Portugal, Tunisia, Colombia, Australia, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador.

These grants help Lions provide urgent supplies, shelter and support for families in crisis.
